MEAT PACKING DISTRICT, BROWN BARS, RIVER OF ICE…

Posted by Leigh

More Copenhagen madness, go on, have a look… The lamp shades are designed by the ultra talented Olafur Eliasson (check him out here: (http://www.olafureliasson.net) who most people will remember form THE WEATHER PROJECT at the Tate Modern in 2003. They were in a bar in the meat packing district called Karriere Bar, which if you are ever in Copenhagen I seriously recommend you check out. More to come soon.

P.S. a brown bar is a local bar that is open pretty much 24 hours a day where people can still smoke inside. I think if the bar is under 40 meters square the smoking ban doesn’t apply…

DIRTY TYPE…

On my way to Copenhagen HQ in the morning I have been passing this little nugget of a sign and today I decided to whip the camera out and take a photo! Check it out, I love it because it’s the kind of type designers (including myself) have been trying to replicate in recent years, but not many have managed to do so successfully.

Here it is, PEACE!

OUZO MIX TAPE COVER – PLUS AND MINUS

Posted by Leigh

I decided a while ago that I wanted to change the direction of this blog a little and am now going to start focusing on my work as a Graphic Designer, design, self initiated briefs, pictures and photography I like and pretty much any kind of music or whatever I like, I am basically going to make it more personal.

So here is something I did last night, the new OUZO* mix tape cover. I was trying to think of way of doing something more interesting with the covers this time around, after developing a style for GET SOME that I am really happy with. I kept to the same formula in terms of the way I used the image but creating two versions, one for the mix (white is predominant colour) and one for press and promo (image is dominant). Have a look, hope you like!

Click on the OUZO link to hear the mix.

In a bit!

NEW ERA PHOTO SHOOT – NEW ERA & MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL, DOUBLE MEANING CAMPAIGN

Posted by Leigh

YO!

The Princess of Wales and myself did a little shoot for New Era,  which some of you will probably see around town over the next few weeks. It was based on a shot we took which ended up here: CHECK ME OUT! and can be seen, here:

P.O.W, & OUZO

Check the final shots and campaign here:

NEW ERA & MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL LAUNCH DOUBLE MEANING CAMPAIGN
Exclusive promotion in conjunction with New Era’s European flagship stores and Citadium in France

LONDON, UK, (November 25th, 2009) – New Era Cap Co., Inc., the authentic global lifestyle brand, today announced its double-meaning campaign with Major League Baseball. The month long promotion features out-of-home marketing methods to communicate their long-serving partnership as well as supporting the profile of both brands within the consumer marketplace.

The campaign imagery will be located in key public areas surrounding New Era’s three European flagship stores in London, Berlin and Birmingham as well as Paris’ major sports and fashion department store, Citadium. The promotion will feature three different action shots with a supporting caption such as ‘switch hitter’ and ‘stolen base’. The caption implies a literal and metaphoric meaning to the image with an additional text explanation of the official baseball terminology in detail.

A supplementary element to the campaign is a chance for people to enter a competition and win a trip for two to New York City with four nights accommodation, tickets to a NY Yankees game and evening entertainment at a popular music gig in the heart of NYC. The competition ballots can be found exclusively in New Era’s European flagship stores, Citadium and www.neweracap.co.uk for a month long period.

This ongoing campaign celebrates the connection between New Era, Major League Baseball and its diverse consumer base, and helps clarify the brand’s heritage roots within American sports.
