A great track by The Prodigy with a sample that takes me way back. This is the first time in a VERY long time that I have seen a music video which has made me sit up and and take note! It was produced by a company called Academy Films and really is amazing! Great concept, check the video out below by clicking on the image…
Here are some shots of the first finished sample of the limited edition boxed set which Farrow have designed for the Pet Shop Boys. I like this a lot! ENJOY.
A beautiful rework of an already amazing piece of music. Adem, a British singer/songwriter, began recording in his teens as the bass player for the popular post-rock trio Fridge, recording four full-length records. In 2003 he was snapped up by Domino, home to a diverse group of artists including Four Tet, The Kills and Pavement. He released his debut (Homesongs) in 2004, followed by Love and Other Planets in 2006 and a collection of acoustic covers called Takes in 2008.
‘To Cure A Weakling Child / Boy/Girl Song’, Comes form the album ‘Takes’ and is a cover the Aphex Twin originals (merging two Aphex tracks together) to produce his own electronic folk masterpiece. This track has been a real favourite of mine in the last twelve months and I highly recommend the album too. Have a listen below, ENJOY!
I haven’t been very inspired over the last week or so and I haven’t had the time to go trawling through the web so I have been struggling to find something worthy of putting up on the blog until I saw this… A friend of mine (probably the WU’s biggest fan, fact) sent me an email getting very excited about a set of WU-TANG album artwork, inspired by iconic Blue Note covers of old. I have to admit, I love them. They were designed by a chap called Logan Walters and in my opinion, RZA if you’re reading his, you should be considering them for the artwork of any anniversary type re-releases. Stunning work.
This has been around for some time now, but was officially released just over a week ago. I have to give massive props to this guyas he is absolutely smashing it up! Gemmy is pushing the boundaries and emerging as one of the biggest artists from the ever evolving Bristol scene. His first release, BK 2 The Future, was a Grime anthem and Supligen is sure to follow suit. Watch out for ‘Purple Now’, coming soon.
Here’s a link to a great group, The Typographic Circle. If you’re interested in typography then you should go to their page as they put on regular lectures and seminars for members. It’s cheap to join and very interesting, get involved!
